Body Impact

Body Impact

Body Impact tells how large peak impacts your upper body experience on each foot strike. The measure is given as g-value (1g =9,81 m·s−2)

Target

This value of the measure should be as low as possible.  Note that the value of body impact is also dependent on running speed.

Why Important

The high peak impacts put your body under heavy load and expose overuse injuries.

Cues

  • Develop your steprate
  • Learn active foot landing (leg moving backwards before the foot strike)
  • Reduce overstriding (especially with a straight leg)
